They say we are too young I
say youth is an expression we
wear on our sleeves, the body, the love, the
language of fire
the necessity of heat in the cold
that burns just as hot
youth is the flower that blooms on our
tongues, the growth of words and
sweetened fantasies that turn into fragrant
realities, so vivid is the sting of the
bee that tastes it.
They say we are too young so
I turn to them and ask what age is to them
the way it turns grapes to wine,
seedlings into trees
children into fighters.
