Editor’s Note: The following featured poetry was written by 18-year-old Katerina Ludwig from California, United States.

You welcomed me into your garden.
Summer last, billowy blue,
I used to be your favorite hue.
But you kept me just to rot.

With mercy frost my heart has hardened,
Looking towards a life anew,
A life completely without you.
Springing up and getting hot.
