Only 8 years old and Bana is already used to the constant sound of airstrikes and bombs going off all around her. Bana lives with her mother, Fatemah, and her two younger brothers in Aleppo, Syria. Bana and her mother run a twitter account and tweet about their daily life under siege. Not even a year later and the family settles in Turkey with government support and that's all thanks to her growing popularity. While living in Turkey, Bana and her mother wrote a book together called, Dear World: A Syrian Girl's Story of War and Plea for Peace. "A story of love and courage amid brutality and terror, this is the testimony of a child who has endured the unthinkable." quoted by J. K. Rowling. Son after Bana received lots of publicity and fame. She even got to travel to New York and have interviews with some of the biggest companies. One of her tweets say "Good afternoon from #Aleppo I'm reading to forget the war." followed by a picture of her reading a comic book. Her enthusiasm and positivity can be found all throughout her twitter. Her mother talks about their trip from Aleppo to Turkey and describes it as "hellish". Bana now lives happily in Turkey with her family and continue to spread good messages for people who don't know what it's like to live in war.
